An innovation shuttle at school

The Passion-Based Learning training program, jointly developed between Projecte Empremta and Learnlife and financed with Next Generation EU funds, focuses on the importance of following students’ interests and passions in the learning process. This program has provided training to 85 teachers from 10 public and chartered schools, with the aim of improving the digital competence of teachers and advancing innovative approaches to teaching.

The value of laboratories or “Labs”

Passion Projects transform classrooms into themed labs similar to Maker spaces, where students can explore a variety of topics such as architecture, carpentry, textiles, robotics, audiovisual production and digital fabrication. This methodology allows students to choose what they want to learn, increasing their motivation and responsibility.

Building a learning ecosystem

The collaboration between teachers from different schools has created a learning ecosystem where teachers can share ideas and experiences. This network facilitates mutual learning and the implementation of new educational approaches.

Making a tangible impact

The program has involved 1500 secondary school students, providing teachers with techniques to guide students towards autonomy and creativity. Labs encourage peer collaboration and allow students to receive valuable feedback, learn from mistakes, and take ownership of their projects.

Learning for a changing future

Students develop both technical skills and soft skills, essential for today’s world, such as agility, creativity and resilience. Passion Projects prepare young people to face the changing challenges of the 21st century, equipping them with key skills for their future.

Ailabs project

At Escoles Empremta, the Passion Projects are the Ailabs Project, and we have implemented it in the first years of ESO. In this project, all the Passion-Based Learning methodologies and principles developed in this article are put into practice.
